EVERYONE knows if you want to lose weight, you probably have to ditch the calorie-rich booze and hit the gym.
But do you actually?
Scientists have suggested that two glasses of wine before bed could actually help you lose weight.
Yep — you read that right. There may be a legitimate reason to guzzle the Cab Sav at the end of a long day.
The studies come from Washington State University and Harvard Medical School and explain that there is a polyphenol called “resveratrol” in red wine that lends us a hand in the weight loss department.
This resveratrol converts white fat into “obesity-fighting” beige fat, which is much easier for the body to break down.
Studies have also suggested that this magic resveratrol suppresses your appetite so you won’t fancy eating as much anyway.
If you’re teetotal or just not a big drinker you don’t have to miss out either.
The helpful polyphenol can also be found in some fruits, like blueberries, strawberries and grapes.
